Roxanne Pallett made a name for herself in the soap world when she was cast as Jo Stiles in the ITV soap, Emmerdale. The 40 year old joined the show in 2005, and remained a staple character until 2008, when she decided to leave the Yorkshire Dales for good.
During her stint on the show, Roxanne enjoyed plenty of good press, including nominations for several awards.
From Sexiest Female, Best Storyline, and Best Actress at The British Soap Awards, the Inside Soap Awards, and the TV Quick Awards, respectively, Roxanne also enjoyed plenty of juicy plots to dig her teeth into.
Thanks to her Emmerdale fame, Roxanne then landed plenty of other lucrative TV offers, and has a string of reality show credits to her name.
In 2005, she took part in Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes, in 2006, she appeared on Soapstar Superstar, and in 2009, she competed in Dancing on Ice.
However, it was her 2018 Celebrity Big Brother appearance that proved to be just as dramatic for Roxanne as some of her Emmerdale storylines.
To recap, the actor faced a slew of negative press when she falsely accused her fellow housemate and soap star, Ryan Thomas of punching her.
The allegations led to over 25,000 Ofcom complaints about her, with Roxanne eventually apologising during an interview with then Big Brother host, Emma Willis, where she revealed she'd made a "terrible mistake."
But away from the controversy and limelight, what is Roxanne up to these days? Let's take a look inside her personal life…
Who is Roxanne's famous husband?
Following the Big Brother scandal, which is now dubbed as 'punchgate,' Roxanne relocated to the US.
There, she met New York based firefighter and former Married at First Sight star Jason Carrion.
The two got engaged in 2019 and tied the knot two months after the proposal in January 2020 at the Lutheran Evangelical Church in New York.
After their wedding, Roxanne posted a sweet photo from their special day to social media, accompanied by the caption: "There’s an old saying that difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations. Well, it was worth every broken step that got me here and I thank God every moment that out of everyone in the whole world, I was led to you.
"You are my safest place and my greatest adventure. Thank you for choosing me.
"On our wedding day we celebrated our commitment to one another. A day I’ll truly remember as perfect in every way."
Roxanne and Jason welcomed a baby together
One year after getting married, Roxanne also shared that she was pregnant with her first child. The former soap star gave birth to a baby boy in 2021, who the couple named Maverick.
Jason also reportedly said of his wife and son while Roxanne was pregnant: "Rox is always on my mind, she motivates me. And now I have Maverick on the way, I feel blessed.”
Roxanne has stepped away from the limelight
Since moving to the other side of the Atlantic, Roxanne seems to have left fame behind.
With a scarce social media presence these days (the couple seem to have a joint Instagram account called @lovethecarrions but haven't posted since 2020), Roxanne actually told Closer magazine that she was done with the limelight.
She said: "I think taking a step away from showbiz has been the biggest saving grace for me as it’s brought better people into my life and given me a healthier perspective on what’s important."
