Strictlys Craig Revel Horwood sparks exit fears after crying during live final

Strictly viewers fear Craig Revel Horwood is going to quit the show when he broke down in tears during the live final.

Craig is infamous for his deadpan exterior and catty judging technique. But during the live final he showed his emotional human side which sparked fans to think he is going to quit.

The 58-year-old star always said he'd stay on the show until he was 60. However, after the TV personality couldn't hide his emotions while critiquing Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola's second performance tonight fans discussed this could mean Craig is about to leave the programme and tonight was his last ever final.

Craig told Ellie and Vito: "I am so proud and probably the last time i get to speak to you and tell you how I really feel darling and that is 'you are fabulous'" Taking to X, formerly Twitter BBC viewers were left surprised by the moment and aired their thoughts.

"Was that Craig chocking back emotion then?" asked one viewer on the social media platform.

Another wrote: "Why am I getting the feeling from Craig tonight that this is his final series? And he's saying goodbye." Their tweet sparked agreement with another writing: "I feel exactly the same!! He's been very emotional this season."

A third viewer said: "The way he is bringing up the Strictly past (21 series) ex-celebrities and words – I think he's going to mention something tonight once all dances have been completed. I hope not, he's one of the best!"

And a fourth said: ""Craig getting emotional, wow."

Corrie star Ellie had swerved a nasty fall during her Jennifer Lopez megamix – but Craig assured her it's important to try new things.

"I'm so pleased that you did take a risk. And I think back, actually, to series one and I was imagining Natasha Kaplinksy doing that and how far this programme has come," he told them.

He added, "You're amazing," with tear filled eyes – which prompted Motsi Mabuse to place a hand on his shoulder and praised her saying she had a 'beaming smile' and it had been "wonderful to see you grow and develop as a dancer throughout the series."
