Strictly Come Dancing icon could join rival show Dancing On Ice judging panel

Anton Du Beke jokes about dance move with Craig Revel Horwood

Craig Revel Horwood has been part of the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel since the BBC show’s inception in 2003. He’s known as the harshest judge and is the toughest person to impress on the series.

It took him until week 11 of this year’s competition before he handed out a 10 to a competitor. West End star Layton Williams and his professional partner Nikita Kuzim were thrilled as Craig’s score gave them the first 40 points of the series.

Ahead of this year’s series airing, Craig revealed he is hoping to leave the show in January 2025 when he turns 60 years old. This means he might only be a judge for another year.

“I’m working hard while I can, especially as I love what I do,” he told Best Magazine. “It keeps me on my toes, darlings! I’m now the same age as the late, great Len Goodman was when he first started – that’s scary, isn’t it?!”

He added: “The reason I look forward to it every year is because the cast changes. I think that’s what’s fun about it, it doesn’t age. And this year’s line-up is fab-u-lous!”

However, AI has predicted Craig will join the rival dancing show Dancing On Ice which airs on ITV.

Bard AI told the Daily Star: “He is known for his sharp and often critical comments, which have earned him the nickname Mr. Nasty.

“This would bring a different dynamic to the Dancing on Ice judging panel.”

It also said he has a background in figure skating as he has competed in the Australian Figure Skating Championships.

It added: “If Horwood were to join Dancing on Ice, it would be a major coup for the show.

“He would bring his expertise, his charisma, and his sharp tongue to the judging panel. He would also be a ratings draw, as he is one of the most recognizable and popular figures on British television.”

Will the prediction come true in the coming years, or does Craig’s heart belong to Strictly Come Dancing?

Strictly Come Dancing has just four contestants left to compete for the prestigious Glitterball Trophy after Nigel Harman had to drop out of the show after sustaining a rib injury.

The stars left in the show are Ellie Leach, Bobby Brazier, Annabel Croft and Layton Williams.

There will be no elimination this evening following Nigel’s shock exit, Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly announced on Saturday evening’s live show.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC One.
