Holly Willoughby not in good place after This Morning exit, says ex co-star

Holly Willoughby quits ITV’s This Morning after 14 years

Holly Willoughby’s old colleague has given an update on how the star is doing since she left This Morning.

At the start of October, the ITV star quit the show with immediate effect as she told her fans the decision was for herself and her family.

Since then, the 42-year-old has remained quiet on social media and is yet to make a return to TV.

Following her departure from the show, which she was part of for over 10 years, her past colleague Leigh Francis has given an update on the star.

The duo worked together on Celebrity Juice for 12 years as Leigh, who’s best known for his on-screen persona Keith Lemon, was the host of the ITV show.

Leigh told Sunday People: “I don’t think she’s in a good place. She’s having a tough time.”

When speaking about what they discuss, the 50-year-old revealed he just does his best to try and put a smile on her face.

He continued: “I just text her? I don’t ask how she is, but I send her some messages to cheer her up.

“I just go, ‘Hope you’re OK’, and tell her about things I’ve bought. Like, ‘I’ve just wasted my money on some Spider-Man Crocs, Holly? do you like them?’

In January, ITV’s skating competition Dancing on Ice will return to screens, which usually sees Holly present alongside Phillip Schofield.

With Phillip no longer being part of the show, it’s unclear whether Holly will return to screens to front the new series.

Touching on the possibility of her making a TV comeback, Leigh wasn’t able to answer as he revealed he didn’t know.

When Express.co.uk contacted ITV on the subject, a spokesperson stated further announcements would be made in “due course.”

Since Holly left This Morning, the programme has had a rotation of stand-in presenters from Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes and most recently Cat Deeley.

However, next week the show is getting a royal shake-up as Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson will be co-hosting Monday afternoon alongside Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Along with fronting the episode, she’ll also be editing in the gallery alongside boss Martin Frizell.

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am
