ITV Love Island star red-faced after fire crew saves from wardrobe malfunction

Love Island star Tyrique Hyde has been left embarrassed after a fire crew was called out to help him out of his Halloween outfit.

Hyde, who starred in the ITV dating show earlier this year, had the awkward wardrobe malfunction as he dressed up as Batman icon The Joker on Tuesday night (October 31). But whilst he was living it up in his ensemble, things soon took a turn for the 24-year-old footballer.

After being rushed to the A&E department, doctors were unable to help Tyrique and instead pointed him in the direction of the fire station. When there, a fire crew was able to him out of a part of his look in the early hours of Wednesday morning (November 1).

According to the ex-Islander, his finger was "turning green", after a costume jewellery ring got stuck, cutting off circulation to the body part. Tyrique opted to share his story with his loyal followers on TikTok as he explained his scary Halloween story.

Speaking in a video uploaded to the social media platform, he said: "Obviously, you know you lot saw me doing the Joker 'ting last night. Costume was sick, all of that… me and Ella were shutting it down.

"I got home from Mia's 'ting and I had a ring stuck on my finger," he continued. "I don't even wear rings, but I thought, 'Obviously let me get into the Halloween vibe and put a ring on for the Joker'."

Hyde explained that he the ring got stuck on his finger and after some initial panicking, he went to A&E. Doctors at the hospital, however, did not have the right bolt cutter to cut the finger free and instead Tyrique had to go to the fire station at 6am.

"I was there for like an hour and a half cutting and sawing through this ring," he explained. "They said my circulation was going to stop off, my finger was going green."

It has been a busy month for Tyrique as he confirmed that he had gone back to his day job after reaching the Love Island final in August with beau Ella Thomas. Tyrique is back on the pitch as he goes back to being a semi-professional footballer playing as a midfielder for Dartford.

24-year-old Tyrique teased his return on social media, eventually confirming his comeback when he posted a snap to his Instagram on Friday (October 27) of him in a pair of football boots and socks. He captioned the snap: "Pre-season starts now," as it coincided with Tyrique's return to being a coach.

A spokesperson for Dartford Football Club said previously that the team would "welcome [Tyrique] back with open arms" after his time in the Love Island villa. Tyrique managed to reach the final of the hit dating show, after falling in love with 23-year-old Ella; the pair eventually finished in third place.
