Earlier today, it was announced that I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Grace Dent had quit the reality show after just one week in the jungle. Following her departure, a spokesperson for the programme revealed she had left due to medical reasons.
"Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike," they explained.
However, after learning of the shock exit, viewers are now convinced that they've spotted the exact moment when the 50 year old food critic decided to call it quits.
Let's unpack: over the last few days, Grace has been chosen to face a series of Bushtucker trials, which over the years, seem to have gotten more elaborate and more testing.
From enduring the Touchdown of Terror with fellow camp mate Nella Rose, in which she got a bug stuck in her ear to the frightening Pole Position before she even entered the jungle, Grace also unenthusiastically took part in the group challenge, Locker Shocker.
Due to fans at home suggesting that Grace didn't pull her weight during the latter, she was voted by the viewers as a 'punishment' on Sunday night's show to take part in the ominous Down The Tubes with This Morning host, Josie Gibson.
But it was the announcement of trial number four – which Danielle Harold will now be facing – that fans believe was Grace's final straw and what led to her decision to quit the show for good.
After Ant and Dec announced her name, the TV star's face immediately dropped, and her expression was one of complete defeat.
Elsewhere, she had already opened up to Josie to reveal that she'd "completely had enough" and wanted to "go home" due to the relentless trials.
So, when the news broke that she had quit, it was no surprise when a source shared that "Grace was having a tough time away from her family," and was struggling with a lack of sleep and her home comforts, including food and regular meals.
"But more than anything she was really pushed to the brink by the gruelling trials this year," they continued, adding that the introduction of the Scarena series meant that the celebs are required to take part in "more challenges than ever," they added.
Grace has since been spotted at Brisbane airport getting ready to head back to the UK.
