Swatch Teases Upcoming Collaboration With Blancpain

Swatch Group has recently excited the watch-collecting world with a suggestive advertisement in a German newspaper, hinting at a collaboration between Blancpain and Swatch — which was confirmed via a post on its Instagram account just days ago.

The primary ad in question prominently displayed a silhouette of a Blancpain dive watch crown, with the co-hosted post from both Swatch and Blancpain confirming the imminent collab.

This latest collaboration follows off the back of the massive success of Swatch Group’s Omega x Swatch “MoonSwatch” collaboration, suggesting the watch group is aiming to produce similar results.

As for best guesses of what this collab might look like, considering Blancpain’s historical preference for mechanical movements, the collaboration might incorporate Swatch’s Sistem51 mechanical movements — with imagery also potentially hinting towards the possibility of a bioceramic Blancpain Fifty Fathom.

Additionally, indications of five distinct models named after oceans – Arctic, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, and Antarctic – could be clues that nod to the Fifty Fathoms’ deep dive heritage.

While little is known about the collaboration at the time of writing, it’s expected that more details will be announced on Saturday, September 9, as interpreted based on the dates in the physical and digital ads.
