New York artist and designer Nik Bentel has a playful play on the black puffer jacket, an item practically every New Yorker seems to sport in the winter season. Just as temperatures drop, Bentel has launched his take on the puffer, though it won’t be keeping you very warm.
Driven to reimagine a “classic design into something novel,” a recurring theme through Bentel’s releases, The Puffer Bag is a miniature jacket that functions as a satchel and computer bag. The bag itself measures 15 inches (381 mm) tall and 13 inches (330 mm) wide, capable of fitting a standard laptop.
The bag features a functional zipper, concealed from the outsider viewer for a more design-forward look, along with front pockets. The strap is long enough that it can be worn either on one’s shoulder or cross-body style.
The Puffer Bag follows Bentel’s latest drops, which have recently included a DIY Emergency Stool for some extra seating and a series of bags inspired by a NY-set picnic.
The Puffer Bag launches on Nik Bentel’s website on November 1 in a limited run of 400 units, priced at $225 each.
