Celebrities are normally very hush-hush when it comes to aesthetic treatments and surgery, which is why Millie Mackintosh is a breath of fresh air. The former Made in Chelsea star, 34, has made headlines in recent months after revealing she had a breast enhancement earlier in the year. Now, she’s opening up further on her surgical experience.
“I do love a treatment,” she says, sitting down for a panel talk at Harrods' Wellness Clinic to promote a new and improved Morpheus8 technology. “For me, I feel like if you’re in the public eye and posting images and having tweakments, if you’re silent about it and you don’t open up, you’re selling this impossible image to people that's unattainable.
“I love sharing my journey; I talk about my struggles with body images and I talk about everything from having Morpheus8 to having breast implants after giving birth to my children [Sienna, 2, Aurelia, 1]. There are things that I’ve had that are subtle, but I knew people would see me, for example, going from being flat-chested before having children to looking like this.
“I had that treatment and it made me feel great. I knew people would ask me about it and I didn’t want to lie.”
Millie is mostly referring to her breast enhancement there, which she says has made her feel amazing, but she’s also quick to credit less invasive facials and tweakments like Morpheus8 for making her look her best in her 30s.
If you haven’t heard of Morpheus8, it’s a celebrity-loved non-surgical treatment that tightens and firms skin on the face and body. It does this by combining micro-needling with radiofrequency technology – which delivers energy deeper into the skin and causes your face to become firmer from one treatment. The new 3D upgrade of this treatment essentially targets deeper layers of the skin by implementing radiofrequency waves in a 3D pattern. The advanced tech means minimal downtime and maximised results.
Though Millie is yet to book in for the Morpheus8 3D, she says she’s excited to try it after seeing great results from the original treatment.
“After I had my children, it was a lot on my body and my face. I had them quite close together and the skin on my stomach was stretched and crepey,” she explains. “I had two C sections and I wanted to improve the scars – the skin wasn’t flat in that area. I didn’t want anything invasive so I had a course of Morpheus8 on my face and stomach – three sessions spaced six weeks apart. Now I’m keen to try Morpheus8’s new technology to see if it can really improve the texture and firmness of the skin on my stomach.”
If the idea of this treatment has piqued your interest, you’ll be happy to learn you can book in exclusively at the Wellness Clinic at Harrods, where Millie will also be going for hers. It costs between £800 and £1200 per session, depending on the part of your body you're targeting, and this will be determined in your initial consultation along with how many sessions you need.
Fair warning, Morpheus8 isn’t known as the most comfortable of treatments, so don’t book in expecting a relaxing facial. “I found it very painful, I’m not going to lie. It was painful but I didn’t walk out of the room,” Millie admits.
Well, you know what they say: beauty is pain!
