Amanda Abbington is known for her roles in the TV series Sherlock and Mr Selfridge and the BBC sitcom After You’ve Gone.
She’s also appeared in the British TV drama series Safe which was created by the crime author Harlan Coben and streamed on Netflix.
The actress began her career in the noughties when she played various characters in The Bill and appeared in several TV series including Casualty, Shades, Doc Martin and Teachers.
On stage, the 49-year-old has also appeared in God of Carnage at the Theatre Royal, Bath, and Florian Zeller’s play, The Son.
Now, Amanda is competing in the 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside broadcaster Angela Rippon and former tennis player Annabel Croft.

Amanda was born in North London and was brought up in Hertfordshire. It seems the actress hasn’t strayed far from her roots and still lives in Hertfordshire with her fiancé Jonathan Goodwin.
The home was previously shared with Amanda’s former partner Martin Freeman. The couple, who appeared together in Sherlock, have two children together – Joe and Grace.
Jonathan and Amanda share the family home with their two small dogs.
