Vic Reeves wild burial plans involve circus cannon, Pink Floyd and wifes hand

Comic Vic Reeves wants to be buried holding hands with his wife Nancy.

The TV funnyman, 64, real name Jim Moir, has been married to model and actress Nancy Sorrell, 49, since 2003. They live in Kent and co-host the Sky Arts TV series Painting Birds With Jim And Nancy Moir.

Speaking as a guest on the latest episode of the Where There’s A Will There’s A Wake podcast, Jim reveals: “I always said I wanted to be buried. I want to get buried next to Nancy, holding hands through a hole in the side of the coffin.”

Assuming he will die before his much younger wife, Jim adds: “So when I’m buried there’ll be one hand sticking out the side waiting in anticipation. I’ve often thought about cremation…[but] I’d rather be gently gnawed at by worms and beetles.”

The podcast, hosted by comedian Kathy Burke, asks celebrity guests what they would do if they could plan their perfect death. Reeves said: “I think I’d like to be buried at a 45 degree angle. I’d have two giants at the back and two very short people in the front to carry me along at 45 degrees.

“I’d get fired from a cannon, like a circus cannon, into the church through the top window, into a net, then rolled into the coffin. It’s going to be quite a spectacle. People are going to be buying tickets for this funeral… I might have to get Pink Floyd involved as well.”
