A man has been injured in what police believe was a targeted early morning shooting at a strip club in Melbourne’s CBD.
Emergency services were called to The Men’s Gallery on Lonsdale Street, near the intersection of King Street, in the city just after 4am.
The victim, thought to be in his late teens or early 20s, was found on the road. Police were told a suspected gunshot had been heard.
Victoria Police Inspector Chris Murray said an altercation broke out inside the venue before a single gunshot was fired, injuring a patron. The gunman then fled the scene in a vehicle.
“Any firearm incident inside a venue is a concern, but we have the best in the business on the case … I’m sure we’ll have an arrest,” he said.
The injured man was taken to hospital, where he is refusing to provide information to detectives about the incident.

Police say the matter is being treated as a targeted attack.
The incident comes nearly four months after three men were stabbed in the Men’s Gallery toilets shortly before closing time.
