1. Shave peach fuzz (optional)
Mikayla first shaved the peachfuzz off her mother’s face but stressed this is a personal choice and the skincare routine can be done without doing this step.
She said: “I decided to shave [my mother’s] face. Now she has never done this before. She has fabulous skin, especially when it comes to texture.
“So really, I’m just removing any surface dead skin and peach fuzz…I told her to get some disposable razors and just do this at home once a month.”
Shaving the face can help remove excess oil and dirt as well as make the skin smoother. The benefit of doing this as part of a skincare routine as it enhances how much the beauty products will absorb into the skin.
2. Keep under eyes hydrated
Mikayla then used the Hyaluronic Fix Extreme4 Jelly Eye Patches by Nip + Fab. These are simple parches which are placed under the eyes.
She said: “These are an extremely hydrating under eye mask. Let them sit until the of the routine.”
3. Use Vitamin C to get rid of sunspots
To make eyes appear smoother and brighter, Mikayla used the Vitamin C Ferulic Dark Spot Serum on her mother, which will help reduce sun spots around the eyes.
She said: “My mum’s biggest concern is sunspots because she loves spending her time outside and didn’t use SPF growing up.”
Mikayla also used the Vitamin C eye cream by Glow recipe at the end of the skincare routine, once the eye mask has been taken off.
She said: “This is gonna help with those dark circles, even the sunspots under her eyes. It’ll really brighten it up. Make sure to use a really gentle pressure.”

4. Don’t forget your lips or neck
Mikayla’s most important advice is to make sure you have a product for both your neck or lips as you age.
She said: “Remember, do not forget the neck. As you get older, you lose fullness in the face, and that goes for the lips as well.”
Mikayla used the Silk Cream by Tatcha as well as a lip mask by Tatcha, which she said will help plump up the face while making it “Nice and hydrated.”
5. Protect the skin from the sun
While it is the most common advice on how to keep skin looking younger, using a sunscreen is the most effective way to protect skin and reduce wrinkles.
Mikayla used her “favourite” sunscreen, Bliss Block Style SPF 30 but said you can also use a sunscreen with a higher SPF.
To finish up the skincare routine, Mikayla used the Rescue Facial Spray by 28 Daily. She explained: “Basically this protects, the skin, helps with irritation and also helps calm redness on the face.”
She added that her mother was happy with the results. Mikayla said: “By the end, her skin was absolutely radiant and now she has an awesome routine to do at home.”
