The Whitaker Group has continued to build its ever-expanding empire with an emphasis on storytelling as it now boasts a lineup of four retail brands — A Ma Maniére, Social Status, APB and Prosper. However, the James Whitner-led company hasn’t shied away from executing its own collaborative projects. Its latest link-up is the first part of a multiyear journey with New Balance and is titled “Missing Pieces.”
Utilizing the 9060 silhouette, the duo has honed in on the youth’s potential to be the change they want to see in the world — “standing up for a vision of society, reality and the world around them that will only emerge through culturally-relevant conversation and their committed actions.”
Two colorways of the bulky design have been crafted — a “Silver Moss Green” and “Daydream Blue.” Each utilize a nubuck upper in their respective color arrangements as a loose-gauge mesh serves as the base in “Moonrock” and “Hazy Peach” respectively. Supporting the sneaker, both pairs favor a green midsole that is backed by a soft orange rubber outsole on the former and a black one on the latter.
Release for The Whitaker Group x New Balance 9060 “Missing Pieces” in both colorways begins on September 28 at 11am EDT via TWG retailers at a price of $170 USD. In the meantime, local priority access and general raffles have started at TWG storefronts.
