Director Taika Waititi has finally given fans a preview of what is to come for his Star Wars film.
Sharing his vision for the upcoming movie, Waititi said that he is not looking to rush the project and wants to get it right for legacy fans. He said on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Yeah, I’ve been developing that for a few years. But, I think, with any film, but that one in particular, it’s something I’d really like to get that one right. So I don’t wanna rush it. It’s just going to bobble along on the side. It’s exciting.” He also shared with fans, “I want to capture that joy and the entertainment of those early ones. The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi. Yeah, so I’m trying to figure that out… It’ll happen!”
In terms of how he will be injecting his signature flair in the film, he playfully told the fans, “It will be…a Taika Waititi film.” He joked, “It’s gonna piss people off.” While he does aim to put his own spin on things, he also wants to get the film right, staying true to the LucasFilm franchise.
