Los Angeles-based designer Doni Nahmias has been tapped by NHL team, the Arizona Coyotes, to be their new creative strategist. The founder and creative director of his own namesake brand NAHMIAS succeeds Rhuigi Villaseñor, another LA-based designer who was appointed the creative head for the Coyotes last year.
NAHMIAS founder has alway injected a unique style into his designs, infusing a mix of skate, sports, surf, and hip-hop codes melded into an ascendant ready-to-wear label. As for hockey motifs, the brand recently unveiled its own branded hockey jersey for modern streetwear codes. The collaboration between the Coyotes and Doni Nahmias will include a merch collection. The second collection will be available in the late winter and early spring of 2024. The collection currently features a string of t-shirts, hoodies and a varsity hat.
Arizona Coyotes Chief Brand Officer Alex Meruelo Jr. said, “Doni Nahmias is one of today’s top visionaries when it comes to cutting-edge designs. His styles align perfectly with many of our players who take pride in their fashion.” Nahmias said in regards to his new role, “I’m excited by the endless potential this partnership has to pave a new landscape for Arizona Coyotes hockey in the fashion industry. Hockey now becomes a canvas for creative expression where I can use new perspectives to redefine the very essence of style and the sport.”
The first drop of the Coyotes collection has dropped online.
