2023 has been the year of messy (and shocking) celebrity divorces. From Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ media speculation firestorm to Christine Baumgartner and Kevin Costner’s long, extremely divisive divorce, nearly every celebrity couple has been breaking up in the most dramatic ways.
Honestly, it’s gotten so crazy that fans are convinced amicable divorces are a thing of the past. However, these few A-list couples are living proof that amicable divorces do happen, and happen more often than you’d think!
An amicable divorce can be defined as a civil divorce that ends peacefully, and without a huge courtroom fight, according to LegalMatch. Most of the time, they reach a simple set of conditions about child custody, spousal support, property division, and more, where both parties are pleased with the outcome.
Some of these couples had their divorces finalized in less than six months, and have remained friendly since. Others may have taken a while to get the divorce finalized, but they remain best friends (and the best of co-parents) even decades after the fact.
From Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin to Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, these celebrity couples show amicable splits can definitely happen.
Check out which celebrity couples had super amicable divorces below:
