Abba Voyage: Trailer released for revolutionary concert<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s been a year and a half since ABBA opened their virtual residency in London.<\/p>\n

Four decades on since breaking up, Agnetha\u00a0F\u00e4ltskog, Bj\u00f6rn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson\u00a0and\u00a0Anni-Frid Lyngstad reteamed for motion-capture performances in Stockholm.<\/p>\n

Since opening at the ABBA Arena last year, their younger ABBAtars have been performing on their behalf with a live band and backing singers to critical acclaim.<\/p>\n

As Christmas approaches, the specially-made venue in East London has been getting into the festive spirit.<\/p>\n

Express.co.uk went to check it out for ourselves finding the\u00a0wooden panelled open area outside the concert hall being covered in decorations.<\/p>\n

Mulled wine and seasonal food and drinks were available to purchase alongside Christmas jumpers and baubles in the ABBA Arena gift shop.<\/p>\n

Entering the dance floor ahead of the start of the show, an animation of a snow-covered forest was projected onto screens in front of the stage, adding to the twinkly festive atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The show itself was like nothing we\u2019d seen before as the ABBAtars performed with cracking live accompaniment across a thoroughly entertaining visual spectacle. The only thing we\u2019d say could have been improved is that up close the ABBAtars themselves looked a little like soulless CGI characters from a mid-2000s Robert Zemeckis mo-cap movie. But no doubt the already impressive technology is only going to get better as time goes on.<\/p>\n

A real treat even for the casual ABBA fan, the seasonal schedule with extra performances has been announced alongside Bj\u00f6rn Ulvaeus and Sir Ian McKellen\u2019s latest knitting videos with ABBA Christmas jumpers and socks.<\/p>\n
