Saint Laurent has cut the ribbon on its largest flagship store yet.<\/p>\n
The all-new retail outpost takes over a historic building on the revered avenue des Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es in Paris. Inside the boutique, the House’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, debuts a fresh design concept, which looks to fuse the building’s original architectural elements with the artistic genes of the legacy fashion brand.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to realize one of Yves Saint Laurent’s\u00a0wishes when he arrived in Paris and said he wanted his name to be written in fiery letters on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es,” said Vaccarello in a statement.<\/p>\n
The building boasts a restored Haussmannian facade, where Yves Saint Laurent’s dream becomes a reality. On the inside, there’s a play between raw and refined finishes over four floors, with massive marbles shelves affixed to cement walls, and luminous light panels reflecting off of the space’s pared-back floors. One floor comprises a colossal VIP suite featuring a circular mirror, while the others feature various sectors of the brand’s ready-to-wear offerings \u2014 accessible through a dark-wooden staircase.<\/p>\n
Notably, the store’s double-height foyer houses a neon light scultpure from artist Cerith Wyn Evans, comssioned by Saint Laurent, and there’s also a calming private garden that’s accessible only by clients. Donald Judd’s signature furniture designs decorate the space, offering a high-end finish to the retail concept.<\/p>\n
