British actress Sherrie Hewson, 72, will be taking part in ITV show The Real Full Monty in honour of her beloved brother Brett Hutchinson, who died in 2020 after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.<\/p>\n

\u200cSherrie has been gracing our screens for many years, across shows such as Coronation Street, Benidorm and more. <\/p>\n

\u200cShe joins the line-up of The Real Full Monty alongside the likes of TV presenter Julia Bradbury, reality TV royalty Gemma Collins, Dancing on Ice pro skater Vanessa Bauer and Corrie and Death in Paradise\u2019s Victoria Ekanoye. <\/p>\n

Who is Sherrie Hewson?<\/b> <\/h3>\n

\u200cSherrie Hewson is an English actress, TV personality and writer, having appeared in some of the UK\u2019s most loved shows.<\/p>\n

\u200cShe was born in Beeston, near Nottingham, into a show-business family; her father Ronald was a singer and her mother Joy was a model.<\/p>\n

\u200cThe star began dance and drama aged three and eventually ended up at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art).<\/p>\n

Away from her roles on-screen, she has also written three books including a fiction book and a cookery book.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Sherrie has also been open about some of her own health problems in recent years, including issues with her hearing.<\/p>\n

During a routine eye test, she was advised to see a hearing expert by her optometrist, leading her to be diagnosed with hearing loss diagnosis.<\/p>\n

\u200cSherrie now wears hearing aids in both ears as a result but previously spoke about what a difference it has made to her life.<\/p>\n

She told The Sunday People back in 2019: \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe the difference. I can hear everything now. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m only wearing them at home at the moment. I tried them outdoors but the traffic was too loud. It was a shock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in 2021, Sherrie bravely spoke out about being the victim of sexual assault when she was a young star.<\/p>\n

Sherrie recalled a famous director plying her with booze, disguised as lemonade, and trying to have sex with her.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cHe kept saying, \u2018Oh look, it\u2019s too late for me to drive now because I\u2019ve had some wine. You can sleep on that couch.\u2019 I took my dress off and I was in my bra and knickers on the couch with the duvet, lights out, end of story.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithin minutes, he burst into the room naked and, for the next hour, he chased me. It sounds funny, but he chased me up and down the house, in and out of doors, in and out of wardrobes\u2026 everything you can imagine. I just ran for my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cHe was very famous, and he\u2019s still very \u00adfamous. I won\u2019t mention his name because I don\u2019t think it\u2019s the right thing to do but I never told anybody. I was so very ashamed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Is Sherrie Hewson married and does she have children?<\/b> <\/h3>\n

Sherrie is currently not married, after divorcing her second husband Ken Boyd in 2011.<\/p>\n

The pair met in 1976, and she had a daughter with him in 1984, who is Sherrie\u2019s only child.<\/p>\n

Sherrie lives nearby to her daughter Keeley and three grandchildren in Lancashire.<\/p>\n

However, the couple later separated in 2001, after he admitted having an affair.<\/p>\n

\u200cShe was previously married the artist Hector Blamey; their marriage ended in divorce in 1974. In May 1983.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sherrie is probably best-known for her roles in Coronation Street, Crossroads and Benidorm.<\/p>\n

The actress made her screen debut in two episodes of Z Cars before appearing in The Moonstone and Within These Walls.\u200c<\/p>\n

In 1993, she was cast as Maureen Webster in Coronation Street, who was a dizzy, accident-prone supermarket assistant dominated by her mother.<\/p>\n

Her character was axed in 1997, but she returned for two episodes in 2006 for a guest appearance.\u200c<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, she starred as receptionist Virginia Raven in the revival of Crossroads, which aired in 2001, and as hotel manageress Joyce Temple-Savage in Benidorm.<\/p>\n

She was also a panellist on lunchtime chat show Loose Wome n for more than a decade, after joining the programme in 2003.<\/p>\n

\u200cSherrie has previously spoken about some of the rows the stars used to have, and made clear they weren\u2019t just for show.<\/p>\n

\u200c\u201cWe had the most amazing rows. \u201cIt was all real, it wasn\u2019t put on,\u201d Sherri previously told Mirror.co.uk.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cWe had a lot of freedom then but it\u2019s not there now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The TV favourite has appeared on multiple reality shows too, such as Celebrity MasterChef, Dickinson's Real Deal and Celebrity Big Brother, where she came sixth in 2016. <\/p>\n
