It was like it disappeared out of sight and I wanted to get to the bottom of that.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Scobie went on to address claims made in his book that King Charles and Meghan exchanged &#8216;respectful&#8217; letters about the couple&#8217;s decision to voice such damaging accusations so publicly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He claimed that Charles and Meghan still do not &#8216;see eye to eye&#8217; on the issue &#8216;to this day&#8217;, but doubled down on claims that they had a productive &#8216;conversation&#8217; about the Sussex&#8217;s allegations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;To discover more about these letters that had been exchanged between Meghan and Charles after that Oprah interview, where &#8211; although neither of them see eye to eye on it to this day &#8211; they were at least able to share their queries and concerns about those conversations that happened within the family,&#8217; he continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In his book, Scobie claimed that Meghan and King Charles now have a &#8216;pleasant relationship&#8217; after engaging in a &#8216;respectful back and forth&#8217; via letter about the two Royal Family members who made the remarks about Archie.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He wrote in the book that Charles first reached out to Meghan in the Spring of 2021 &#8211; not long after the interview with Oprah was aired &#8211; to express his &#8216;disappointment&#8217; that the couple had &#8216;chosen to go public with their words&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scobie claims that sources said Charles wanted to tell his daughter-in-law that he felt there was &#8216;no ill will present&#8217; when two people allegedly commented on Archie&#8217;s skin color.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/28\/18\/78337261-12801259-image-m-6_1701197836299.jpg\" height=\"441\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/28\/18\/78337249-12801259-image-a-7_1701197846416.jpg\" height=\"441\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>The author (pictured in New York today) made the claims during an appearance on GMA 3<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/28\/18\/78272997-12801259-Meghan_and_Charles_speak_together_at_Westminster_Abbey_in_March_-a-8_1701197991408.jpg\" height=\"626\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>In his book, Scobie claims that Meghan and King Charles exchanged &#8216;respectful&#8217; letters about the Sussexes&#8217; claims over an unnamed royal&#8217;s so-called &#8216;racist&#8217; remarks\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The source told Scobie that the letters were &#8216;respectful&#8217; but &#8216;serious&#8217;, adding: &#8216;I don&#8217;t know if either saw completely eye to eye in the end, but there was at least a feeling that both had been heard.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scobie&#8217;s appearance on GMA 3 comes just as it was revealed that his controversial book had been pulled in Holland after the\u00a0Dutch translation reportedly named the so-called &#8216;royal racist&#8217; who was accused by Prince Harry and Meghan of making remarks about their son Archie&#8217;s skin color.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Publishers Xander confirmed to the Daily Mail that it had received a last-minute request from the US to put sales of Endgame on hold and were &#8216;awaiting further instructions&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/28\/19\/78337263-12801259-image-a-12_1701198252356.jpg\" height=\"469\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Scobie said on GMA 3 that his book title was not meant to &#8216;declare this as the end of the Monarchy&#8217; but that he believes the royal family has &#8216;reached a pinnacle moment&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>In the original edition of his book, which was published across the globe today, Scobie does not name the member of the royal family who was said to have expressed &#8216;concern&#8217; about Archie&#8217;s skin tone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scobie &#8211; who is known to have a close relationship with Meghan and Harry &#8211; has said that libel laws prevented him from naming the person, although he has claimed that a second person within the royal household echoed the remarks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But a page taken from a review copy of the book sent to Dutch journalists does mention a name, although it is not clear from the context what the person is being accused of.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Referring to letters written between Meghan and the King discussing the issue, the page reads: &#8216;But in those private letters [the identity] was confirmed: [the Mail has redacted the name concerned].&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>It is not clear why a foreign language version of the book would name an individual when other editions did not &#8211; or what that individual is accused of doing &#8211; and it is not known whether it was intentionally included or is a major publishing error.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/28\/19\/78284223-12801259-The_King_and_Meghan_Markle_pictured_with_Prince_Harry_and_their_-a-9_1701198029002.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>During their interview with Oprah, the couple (seen with baby Archie in 2019) sparked a frenzy of speculation when they said an unnamed royal voiced &#8216;concern&#8217; over their baby&#8217;s skin color\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/28\/19\/78256253-12801259-image-a-10_1701198239483.jpg\" height=\"381\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for the Dutch publisher said: &#8216;You are right but I can&#8217;t talk about the details. We have, however, received a request to put the title on hold and that is what we have done.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Asked when that request was received, she explained: &#8216;Just now.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We are awaiting further instructions. I do not know how long this will be.
