Netflix has unveiled the official teaser trailer for its live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Premiering out of Netflix’s Geeked Week, the two-minute trailer shows off the action that fans of the animated series can expect, as well as new looks at Aang, his bison and lemur Appa and Momo, Katara, Sokka, Prince Zuko, Uncle Iroh, Fire Lord Ozai, Azula and Suki. The visual ends with an official release date of February 2022, 2024, with the\u00a0official synopsis reading:<\/p>\n

“Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope.<\/p>\n

But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang (Gordon Cormier), a young Air Nomad \u2014 and the last of his kind \u2014 reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar. Alongside his newfound friends Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) determined to capture them, it won\u2019t be an easy task. They\u2019ll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Also joining the cast are\u00a0Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, Maria Zhang as Suki and Amber Midthunder as Princess Yue, to name a few. Albert Kim will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer alongside directors Jabbar Raisani, Michael Goi and\u00a0Roseanne Liang. Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore are also executive producers.<\/p>\n
