The holiday season is officially underway, and one of the tell-tale signs that Christmas is coming is Starbucks’ unveiling of its holiday menu.

The coffee chain is set to delight UK fans with the announcement of a new Christmas item, Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai.

The new festive beverage will join Starbucks’ Christmas classics, including Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte, on the festive menu.

Starbucks originally introduced the Gingerbread latte to the festive menu over 20 years ago. However, this year, the coffee chain has re-introduced the much-loved flavour but with a dairy-free twist.

The new addition of Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai blends oat milk with black tea-infused cinnamon and warming spices.

The festive beverage, which is also available warm, brings the cosy comforts associated with the festive period.

Senior beverage developer at Starbucks, Matt Thornton, said: ‘It’s a love letter to gingerbread and ginger. The gingerbread flavour amplifies the spice of the chai.’

The coffee chain also announced the release of its iconic Christmas cups, blending the traditional colours of green and red to make the latest cups.

Designed by Bridget Shilling, the cups follow the theme of ‘Share the Joy’.

Talking of the cups, Kirsty Cameron, creative director at Starbucks, said: ‘This year’s holiday theme is ‘Share the Joy.’ It’s our shared human experience and togetherness that makes the season special.’

‘Starbucks red cups are like little wrapped gifts for our partners and customers,’ she added.

‘My hope is that they feel excitement and joy when they see the cups, and that they want to share them with family and friends.’

Each cup also features a gift tag for coffee lovers to write notes or share a sentiment with a friend.

It comes after fans of the coffee chain discovered the brand’s elusive ‘secret menu’, a collection of unique custom drinks that you can ask baristas to put together for you.

From film-inspired masterpieces to drinks that taste like the UK’s favourite chocolate bars, there are many creations that you can get your hands on.

However, it’s important to note you can’t just go into any UK Starbucks and order the secret menu drinks by name – you have to outline exactly how to make it, as baristas won’t know all the items that people come up with.

The drinks include a Kinder Bueno Frappuccino, blending an iced White Mocha with three pumps of hazelnut syrup and whipped cream.

Another fan favourite is a drink inspired by the Harry Potter franchise, Butterbeer Frappucino.

The beverage aims to recreate the flavour of the wizarding world’s ‘Butterbeer’, and you can get it as a Frappuccino or as a hot drink.

To get your hands on it, order a Vanilla Cream Frappuccino with three pumps of toffee nut syrup and three pumps of caramel syrup.

Fans can also get their hands on pumpkin cheesecake frappuccinos and a Biscoff Frappuncio.
