Shirley’s high score certainly left people talking, including ex pro James Jordan who claimed the routine was “not Strictly”.<\/p>\n
He also shared a poll encouraging viewers to vote for whether they thought the routine was worth a 10, to which 96.5 per cent of the vote claimed it wasn’t.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Despite this, many others praised the pair on social media and said they did deserve the controversial 10.<\/p>\n Eddie and Karen’s score put them second on the leaderboard with a total of 34 out of 40 points.<\/p>\n Just ahead of them by one point was presenter Angela Scanlon and her professional partner Carlos Gu.<\/p>\n The couple impressed the judges and viewers with their Charleston routine to Who\u2019s Got The Pain by Gwen Verdon & Bob Fosse.<\/p>\n At the other end of the leaderboard was Jody Cundy and Jowita Przystal, who scored 20 points.<\/p>\n Also on the evening, professional dancer Amy Dowden made a surprise appearance to read out the terms and conditions.<\/p>\n The 33-year-old had to pull out of this year’s series as she continues her battle with breast cancer.<\/p>\n Giving an update on the show, the dancer said she was over halfway through her chemotherapy and treatment.<\/p>\n She excitedly added: “I can\u2019t wait to be back with you all.\u201d<\/p>\n Many viewers on X, formerly known as Twitter, said they were left in tears over her return.<\/p>\n One wrote: “Just burst into tears when Amy Dowden appeared on my screen. Keep fighting!”<\/p>\n A second commented: “The winner of this year’s Strictly is Amy Dowden. Brave, inspirational and a beacon of loveliness. You’ve got this Amy #Strictly.”<\/p>\n A third added: “Oh in tears Amy Dowden – love you, you got this #Strictly.”<\/p>\n
