<\/p>\nLisa George wants to tackle new roles away from Coronation Street.<\/p>\n
After 12 years playing Beth Tinker on the ITV soap, the 52-year-old keen to do something different. And her dream job would be a role in a period drama.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cI\u2019m really \u00adinterested in the war stuff because my grandad talked about the war all the time. So I\u2019d love to do a 1940s drama. Or something set in the 60s would be amazing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to do Call The Midwife. And I watched Ten Pound Poms and loved it. A role in something like that would be amazing.<\/p>\n
"I\u2019d love to do something like that. I like my vintage dramas and stuff like that, maybe a 1940s drama, more like war stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grimsby lass Lisa is staying on the cobbles until Christmas but it\u2019s not guaranteed she\u2019ll still be on the soap in 2024. She said: \u201cI\u2019m just waiting to hear if I get another contract.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although Corrie fans will know Lisa best as Underworld machinist Beth Sutherland, Lisa had already appeared in the soap before.<\/p>\n
Her first time on Corrie came back in 1997, when she appeared as a young nurse working alongside Martin Platt. She later appeared as a Family Liason Officer working on the investigation into Tommy Harris's murder \u2013 appearing for five episodes between March and April 2005.<\/p>\n
Before any of that, though, she starred in The Bill as Melissa Wilson \u2013 for one episode in 1994. She's also worked on medical drama Holby City (2004), and even Corrie's rival ITV soap Emmerdale when she played a guest role as Pauline Arkwright. <\/p>\n

Throughout her time on the iconic programme, Lisa's character Beth has been involved in several hard-hitting storylines.<\/p>\n
This includes her niece Sinead\u2019s battle with cervical cancer. Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, passed away in heartbreaking scenes aired in 2019.<\/p>\n
Lisa has appeared on Dancing On Ice back in 2020. She was partnered up with professional skater Tom Naylor, and they ended up finishing in fifth place \u2013 behind I'm A Celebrity legend Joe Swash.<\/p>\n
But her most recent project away from Corrie was an \u00adappearance on All Star Musicals in 2021. She said: \u201cDoing that show was a lot of fun. I absolutely loved it. I was in my element and it was amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
