Hugh Jackman looked somber as he spent time with good friend Ryan Reynolds in NYC on Monday – just days after his shock split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness was announced.<\/p>\n

The Wolverine actor, 53, who was married to Furness, 67, for 27 years, was pensive as he chatted with his longtime pal and co-star Reynolds during a day of leisure.<\/p>\n

Jackman wore a black jacket over a white tee, trousers and sneakers and sported a bushy beard.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Reynolds, who shares four children with wife Blake Lively – wore a black jacket, grey slacks and a baseball cap as he chatted with his friend.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Jackman was spotted without his wedding ring and running errands around the city after announcing his split with his longtime partner.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Jackman and Furness \u2014 who have been married for 27 years \u2014 issued a joint statement confirming their split.<\/p>\n

The pair announced that they would be filing a divorce after nearly three decades of marriage.<\/p>\n

‘We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,’ they said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.<\/p>\n

‘Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,’ the couple explained as their reason for ending their marriage.<\/p>\n

‘Our family has been and always will be our highest priority,’ the statement continued. ‘We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.’<\/p>\n

They also added, ‘We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.’<\/p>\n

The Australian couple share two adult children together \u2014 son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18.<\/p>\n

Jackman briefly spoke with paparazzi on the street on Saturday and admitted he and his soon-to-be ex-wife are struggling with their split.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As he walked along a street, he divulged that ‘it’s a difficult time’ but declined to discuss the breakup further.<\/p>\n

Last April, the pair had just celebrated their anniversary and Jackman had posted a gushing tribute to his wife on Instagram.<\/p>\n

‘I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 years! I love you so much,’ the actor wrote in his caption.<\/p>\n

‘Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart,’ he shared in the heartfelt post.<\/p>\n
