GARDENERS' World star Toby Buckland is a familiar face to many garden lovers countrywide, but little is known about his life off-screen.

The TV presenter makes gardening the centrepiece of his life as he spends most of his time in the garden or discussing greenery while off-set.

Toby is best known for joining Monty Don and Frances Tophill as a co-host on Gardeners' World, which he has featured in since 2008 and became a fan favourite.

Gardener Toby Buckland, 53, is a TV presenter, author, and radio host.

In 2008, Toby took over from Monty Don as the Gardeners' World primary host after Monty suffered a stroke and had to step down.

After hosting the show for two years, Monty recovered quickly and returned as the main presenter, leaving Toby disappointed with the decision.

At the time, he tweeted: "It was such an honour to present Gardeners' World, and I'm sad to be leaving,"

"Wish Monty and the team the best of luck."

The gardening expert now appears as a regular presenter on the BBC gardening series alongside Carol Klein, Sue Kent, Adam Frost, Joe Swift, Rachel De Thame and Frances Tophill.

When he is away from the cameras, Toby hosts a gardening show on BBC Radio Devon every Sunday that gives listeners gardening advice whilst inviting professionals from the gardening industry to feature on his show.
