Comedian Eddie Kadi has revealed that he will grudgingly accept the judges criticism when the new series of Strictly Come Dancing kicks off on September 16.<\/p>\n
“I see them [the judges] as my maintenance engineer… they’re my plumbers,” he said.<\/p>\n
“So for me, every criticism is just feedback. You know, I’ll keep smiling, but deep inside… (through gritted teeth) THANK YOU, I appreciate it, that’s enough now Shirley!” he said.<\/p>\n
The 40-year-old also revealed that Strictly is the “scariest thing” he’s ever signed up for.<\/p>\n
“Because I love dancing, right? And as a Congolese, as I’ve said it many times, like, we dance (at) every opportunity we get.<\/p>\n

We know you can, you know, go and represent us.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m saying guys, this it’s not afrobeat dancing, it’s not African dancing!” he said.<\/p>\n Eddie, who was the fifth contestant announced this year, is well-known as the host of The Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show on\u00a0BBC\u00a0Radio 1 Xtra.<\/p>\n He has also hosted a number of events including the red carpet show for BET International and BET Africa in Los Angeles, as well as being main stage host for the Afro Nation Festivals across the world.<\/p>\n Don’t miss… <\/strong> We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you. More info<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Alongside this he’s hosted the MOBO Awards, National Comedy Awards, Tonight with Target, +44 Presents: The Noughties Podcast.<\/p>\n This year Eddie has been nominated for the prestigious Royal Television Society Best Breakthrough Award and Best Breakthrough Presenter at the Edinburgh TV Awards.<\/p>\n As well as signing up for Strictly, he is working with Channel 4 on his own documentary.<\/p>\n Speaking about being part of the show after he was announced, he said: \u201cWow. Anyone who knows me, understands that music and dance is so important and central to who I am.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m so unbelievably proud and honoured that Strictly and the BBC have asked me to join the 2023 Team.
