But she has a new movie role.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren stars in Mercy Falls as Rhona, who journeys into the Scottish wilderness with her close group of friends to search for a long-lost family cabin.<\/p>\n<p>However, things don\u2019t exactly go to plan when a fatal accident leads to a murder and what turns out to be a brutal fight for survival.<\/p>\n<p>The actress \u2013 who also served as an executive producer of the movie \u2013 opened up in a new interview about the filming process.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> READ MORE <\/strong> <strong>Outlander\u2019s Lauren Lyle takes swipe at role in rival BBC drama<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/20\/590x\/secondary\/Lauren-Lyle-in-Mercy-Falls-4938730.jpg?r=1693582340957\"><\/p>\n<p>She outlined: \u201cIt was a much smaller shoot compared to Karen Pirie or Outlander. But because of that, it wasn\u2019t as intimidating a set to be on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Scottish setting did remind her of her time shooting Outlander, even if it was a lot colder.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren continued to Digital Spy: \u201cYou&#8217;re always freezing cold on Outlander, but you&#8217;ve got layers of skirts on and they always find little hideaway places to stuff heat packs or a hot water bottle gets run to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But on Mercy Falls, the star almost got hypothermia. More info<\/p>\n<p>Lauren had been notably absent from the latest season of Outlander, which executive producer Maril Davis exclusively told Express.co.uk was because of Lauren being \u201cbusy with a couple of other things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Outlander fans last saw Marsali and Fergus (Cesar Domby) in season six when they left Fraser&#8217;s Ridge to provide a better life for their children.<\/p>\n<p>It is not yet known if the two characters will return for the eighth and final season but they will not be appearing in the upcoming conclusion to season seven, which should air sometime in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/20\/590x\/secondary\/Lauren-Lyle-as-Marsali-MacKimmie-Fraser-4938751.jpg?r=1693582341069\"><\/p>\n<p>Lauren isn\u2019t the only Outlander star to recently announce that they were taking on a new role.<\/p>\n<p><span>Her Outlander co-star Sam Heughan, is set to star in <\/span><span>Channel 4<\/span>&#8216;s<span> physiological drama, <\/span><span>The Couple Next Door<\/span><span>, where he will play a traffic cop, who alongside his wife, will find himself entangled in the lives of the couple who have just moved next door. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While Brianna Fraser star, Sophie Skelton, will be appearing in an upcoming thriller movie called <\/span><span>Row<\/span><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Mercy Falls is in UK cinemas now and will be released digitally on November 9.
