Who is The Voice coach Anne-Marie and what are her best songs?

The Voice UK returned for its tenth series on January 2, and there was someone new occupying one of the judges’ swivelling seats.

Singer Anne-Marie has replaced Meghan Trainor on the panel after the US star exited the show following her pregnancy news – and she was an immediate hit with viewers.

Anne-Marie joins Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am, Welsh crooner Sir Tom Jones and pop star Olly Murs.

But who is she, and where might you know her from?

Who is Anne-Marie from The Voice?

Anne-Marie Rose Nicholson – who works under the name Anne-Marie – is an English singer and songwriter.

The star, aged 29, has been nominated for eight Brit Awards since emerging on the scene in 2016.

Anne-Marie has been releasing hits since her breakthrough nearly five years ago, but she has always had showbiz in her blood.

As a child, she appeared in two West End productions —Les Misérables when she was six, and Whistle Down the Wind when she was 12.

In the latter stage production, she would appear alongside Jessie J, who has also been a judge on The Voice.

What are some of Anne-Marie’s songs?

After cutting her teeth working with demos and providing guest vocals to bands including Rudimental, Anne-Marie released Alarm, the first single from her debut album, in May 2016.

It peaked at number 2 and was certified Platinum in the UK.

One of Anne-Marie’s biggest hits has been alongside British electronic group Clean Bandit.

Providing lead vocals to their track Rockabye – which also featured Sean Paul – the song spent nine consecutive weeks at number one, and gained the coveted Christmas number one.

Anne-Marie also released the song 2002 in 2018, another top 10 hit which peaked at number 3.

She is expected to release a second, yet-untitled studio album in 2021.

For now, fans can catch the star in action on The Voice where she’ll be hoping to pick a winner.

The Voice UK continues tonight at 8:30pm on ITV.
