Adam Thomas’ son Teddy is the latest addition to the Waterloo Road cast.
The 7-year-old will play the role of Tommy Charles, the son of Adam’s character Donte Charles.
A Waterloo Road spokesperson said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances there has been a last-minute casting change to the role of Tommy Charles. The part will now be played by Teddy Thomas."
Teddy isn’t the first Thomas family member to get the call up as it was revealed last month that Adam’s niece, Scarlett will be playing the role of his on-screen daughter, Izzie.
Adam expressed his joy at working with his niece and posted a sweet snap of the two on Instagram, in honour of them shooting their first scene together.
Waterloo Road ran for nine years before getting the axe in 2015.
Much to the delight of fans, it was revealed last month that the BBC drama was set to make a triumphant return, seven years after its end.
Alongside Adam, Katie Griffiths, who played Chlo Grainger in the original series, is also set to make a return.
Sharing a sweet snap hugging Katie, Adam wrote on Instagram: “The news is finally out!!! Donte and Chlo are back!!”
Donte and Chlo’s turbulent relationship remained at the heart of the show for many years, so fans were overjoyed to learn they would be back on screen together.
Taking to Instagram, Katie posted a snap of the two in a car, seemingly between takes, and jokingly captioned it: “We’ve not aged a bit.”
The pair’s co-star Angela Griffin is also set to make a return; however, she has traded in her role as head of pastoral care and is now Waterloo Road’s newest headteacher.
Speaking on her characters return, Angela expressed her excitement at stepping back into Kim’s shoes and said: “I can't wait to explore her life, character and how she has evolved since we last met her.
Also joining the school’s staff is former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh and Rachel Leskovac.
Newcomers include Adam Ali as Kai Sharif, Alicia Ford as Kelly-Jo Rafferty and Coronation Street’s Liam Scholes as Noel McManus.
An official release date for the highly anticipated revival is yet to be confirmed, but Waterloo Road is expected to return to screens later this year.
