The Chase's Anne Hegerty is now a millionaire – despite salary being slashed on ITV show

THE Chase star Anne Hegerty is now a millionaire – despite her income being slashed.

Anne – who also appeared in I’m a Celebrity three years ago – is racking up some impressive numbers and now has almost £500,000 sitting in her company accounts.

Anne – dubbed the Governess – has just filed accounts that show she’s earned well over £1m in the last two years.

Books for her firm – Frosty Knickers Ltd – have been sent to Companies House that cover the 12 months to August 2020.

They show Anne, 63, has a cash surplus of £459, 373 – up from £293,735.

The figures also reveal she has a Corporation Tax bill of around £200,000 for the last two years – meaning that after costs and other deductions her income will have exceeded £1m.

This is even after Covid halved the number of Chase episodes she's been able to film this year and the arrival of new Chaser Darragh Ennis impacted her pay packet too.

The quizzers get a flat fee for every episode they appear in, so the arrival of any new Chasers mean a decreased payload.

Anne recently said: "If you're going to divide the shows by six rather than five, then, you know, do the maths."

Her job on the show as a Chaser is to try and make sure contestants go home empty-handed.

But there’s nothing empty about her company coffers.

However, she’ll have to go some to catch up with The Chase host Bradley Walsh – he’s sitting on a cash pile worth £10  million.

The canny TV favourite is one of the richest blokes on telly and also runs a property company to buy and sell homes and land for housing.
