The Chase: Darragh Ennis catches contestant
The Chase players are always keen to make it to the Final Chase so they have a chance of taking home a share of the jackpot. However, players often have to take a lower offer to ensure they make it back to their teammates, which was the case on Tuesday evening’s episode. Despite offering incredibly high offers, chaser Mark Labbett was surprised both Christine and Peta-Kay opted for the lowest offers of money.
James was first up to the podium and he managed to win £5,000 in his cash builder and decided to stick with the money he had won as he faced Mark.
He successfully beat the chaser and made it into the Final Chase with Christine hoping to repeat his success.
She performed better in the cash builder round racking up an impressive £6,0000.
However, when it came to facing Mark, she surprised viewers by accepting the lower offer of £1,000.

Fortunately she made it through to the next round to support James in the Final Chase.
Next up was Peta-Kay who only answered three questions correctly meaning she earned £3,000.
Worried she wouldn’t perform well in the head-to-head, she too accepted a low offer of £1,000.
Finally, Matt played for the £4,000 he had won in the cash builder and made it through to the Final Chase.
With all four players in the Final Chase hoping to win a share of £11,000, it seemed they could be in luck of winning.
Unfortunately viewers didn’t want to see the players scoop a share of the jackpot prize as they raged at Christine and Peta-Kay for taking the lower offers.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer posted: “What’s the point of a full house when you are playing for f**k all money? If you aren’t interested in prize money, apply for #Pointless #TheChase.”
Another added: “#TheChase def deserve to lose what a waste of time.”

“Why go on a quiz show to only win 1k to be shared makes no sense #TheChase,’ a third posted.
Someone else tweeted: “2 people have taken the low offer in this team. Get in the bin. You don’t deserve to win. Go home. The worst! #TheChase.”
A fifth added: “Imagine going through all the effort of applying, auditioning and waiting on the waiting list just to take the minus offer. Embarrassing #TheChase.”
Fans got their wish as the team only answered nine questions correctly meaning they had a 13 point head start against Mark.
It didn’t take Mark long to catch up with the players, despite a handful of pushbacks.
With just over a minute to spare, Mark caught the team and host Bradley Walsh informed them they’d be heading home empty-handed.
Will tomorrow’s team have better luck in the Final Chase?
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
