The Chase fans were not happy on Thursday as they turned into the most recent episode of the ITV game show.
The popular programme never has a live studio audience but the fake audience sound effects particularly seemed to grate on viewers in the latest episode.
In order to try and make the game show feel familiar, a fake studio laugh is played consistently – but it seems viewers would rather it wasn't.
Taking to Twitter, many complained about the sound effect, with one person writing: "The canned laughter is getting annoying Upside-down face #TheChase."
A second person also tweeted: "I could do without #TheChase’s canned laughter."
And a third viewer added: "This canned laughter on #TheChase is really annoying laughing at things that just aren't funny."
"What’s with the canned laughter?? It’s a little irritating #thechase," a fourth person asked.
Others tuning into the show from home complained that the questions were "easy" and had been "dumbed down" for the players.
Bradley Walsh left baffled over The Chase contestant's 'unbelievable' blunder
It comes after host Bradley Walsh was left baffled over a contestant's blunder earlier this week.
Bradley, 60, was in disbelief as a player, named Peter, suffered a blunder during his round against Anne Hegerty.
The question was: "On a dining table, which of these would you typically find in a cruet?"
Peter was given the multiple-choice options of "Salt, Gravy or Flowers," to choose from.
He selected flowers, and host Bradley was baffled as the answer was in fact, salt.
Bradley said: "Flowers?" as he smirked and shook his head.
Peter defended himself as he said: "I don't know what a cruet is."
