Sam Thompson jokes about Strictly curse with Fleur East
Fleur East shared a sweet message she received from Rylan Clark as she prepared to take on his Strictly: It Takes Two role.
Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Fleur, who made it to the final of last year’s show, has replaced him after he decided to call it a day following last year’s series.
Talking recently about Rylan, Fleur revealed: “As soon as it was announced that I was taking on the role, Rylan sent me a message and said he was so excited and that I was going to have so much fun.
“I’ve worked with Rylan in the past and he’s an incredible presenter so I have got some big boots to fill but he’s really been so supportive.”
Speaking on The One Show in June, Fleur detailed how she was asked to take on the presenting gig.

“It is a lot to take in,” she announced. “I couldn’t believe it and I still can’t believe it in some ways.
“I was with my husband and we were away and I got a call from my agent and I thought ‘Why am I getting a call now? Like I am away this is weird, this is fishy’.
“And she started doing all the pleasantries and then moments later she was like ‘You have got It Takes Two’.
“And I could not believe it. I had no clue, no chat, nothing. I was walking around trying to forget about it, thats the thing, I was tyring to get it out of my head.”

Discussing the themed weeks she was looking forward to, Fleur replied: “So many, it’s hard to pick!
“But it’s got to be Halloween Week because of the incredible costumes.
“I also feel like this week tests everybody and the celebs really get to experiment and push themselves. It also happens to be my birthday week!”
On what to expect from the series, she summarised: “A lot of laughs a lot of honesty and of course, a lot of backstage action.
“I’m looking at it with a different lens as a former contestant. Just everything we all love about It Takes Two.”
