Spoilers: 8 huge questions we're left with after Hollyoaks' shock Winter trailer

Hollyoaks has certainly left fans with plenty to think about today (November 23), after dropping a thrilling Winter trailer.

The serial drama has had quite the year already — what with Breda McQueen (Moya Brady) meeting her demise, and the soap celebrating its 25th anniversary — but things are continuing to heat up in the eponymous village.

Yes, there is plenty to look forward to this festive season, with the questions posed during last year’s New Year flash-forward episode finally set to be answered.

The Winter trailer left us with so many questions, that’s for sure.

Have you recovered yet?

Nah, us neither, and therefore, we’re breaking down all those aforementioned questions in an effort to make sense of everything.

Is George really in the body bag?

Last year’s flash-forward episode revealed that one resident will lose their life on New Year’s Eve 2020, and therefore end up in a body bag.

Little is known about the identity of the deceased — other than the fact that John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) is devastated — but the new trailer appears to give us a clue.

Yes, PC George Kiss’ (Callum Kerr) police badge is lying near the corpse. Does this mean that it is George who dies?

That would certainly explain John Paul’s grief, we guess!

Or is this simply a red herring? Is it someone else who loses their life?

Does Edward kill Diane?

One of the more shocking moments in the Winter trailer — and, let’s be honest, there were a lot! — sees Edward Hutchinson (Joe McGann) attack Diane!

Yes, Diane — having seemingly worked out just who Edward really is — rejects the surgeon, but before she can tell Tony (Nick Pickard) of her decision, she is brutally attacked by Edward, who whacks her across the skull with his briefcase!

He informs Tony that Diane is dead, but is this really the case? Excuse the pun.

Does Edward really kill Diane?

Who does Victor plan on killing?

Victor Brothers (Benjamin O’Mahony) continues to make all the youths of the eponymous village do his bidding, but Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) gets fed up following his orders, and attempts to turn her back on the drugs game once and for all.

Unfortunately for her, Victor has no intention of letting her go, and issues a dark threat about how someone will end up dead

Throughout the trailer, Juliet can be seen with blood on her face, but just whose blood is it?

Has Victor followed through on his promise and killed someone close to her?

What is Silas’ revenge plan?

Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) has been making the McQueen clan’s lives a living hell, but he ups his game over the festive season — hiding in plain sight in a Santa suit!

The question is: just what is he up to?

Cher Winters (Bethannie Hare) and Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) find themselves in deadly danger, and the serial killer threatens Bobby too, but just what is it that he’s planning?

And who will pay the price?

Will Verity destroy Edward?

Verity (Eva O’Hara) has been incredibly conflicted regarding Edward’s behaviour, but she seemingly decides that enough is enough, and therefore sets out to expose the truth to Diane.

The question is: will she ultimately do so?

Diane is given reason to want to break-up with Edward, so perhaps this is due to Verity having revealed everything?

Will the young woman follow through on her promise to ‘destroy’ Edward? Or will he attempt to prevent her from doing do?

Does Mercedes sleep with Warren?

Animosity seemingly ensues between Mercedes and Sylver (David Tag) in upcoming scenes, which results in The Dog landlady sassily informing her beau that she’ll sleep with any man that she wants.

Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) later reveals that he slept with Mercedes, but did he really do so?

Did Mercedes really throw away her marriage after doing everything she could to prove to her hubby just how much she loved him?

Is there a twist in store?

Sienna and Brody over as she kisses Warren?

Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) cheated on Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward) with Warren last month, and instantly regretted her actions — so much so that she’s done everything she can to prevent Brody from discovering the truth.

However, it appears as if she ultimately gives into temptation once more, as she kisses Warren again — with the Channel 4 soap employing some clever trickery in order to pull of such a scene in a socially-distanced fashion.

Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) witnesses the snog, and later confronts Sienna with her discovery, but will she reveal all to Brody?

Will Juliet and Peri reconcile?

Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) is struggling to forgive Juliet in episodes currently being transmitted, after discovering that her pal was a drug dealer.

However, disowning Juliet proved incredibly difficult for Peri, given that she’s starting to have feelings for her.

In the trailer, Peri encourages Juliet to aim higher — which possibly leads to Juliet’s decision to tell Victor to stick his job — but will romance ensue for the pair?

We know that they do share another kiss on Nee Year’s Eve, but will they properly be able to commit to one another and thus be happy? Or will more tragedy ensue?

What has Charlie done?

Darren finds Charlie — seemingly alone — and asks him what he’s done, with a look of concern on his face.

It’s evident that something very bad has transpired, but the question is: just what is it?

What’s more, is it in relation to Victor and Jordan price (Connor Calland), given that he’s been dealing drugs for them?
