I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! saw two new arrivals enter the grounds of Gwrych Castle this evening as operatic tenor Russell Watson and West End star Ruthie Henshall were revealed to be joining the line-up of the 10 existing stars. Before being welcomed properly into the camp, the pair had to face a grim Bushtucker Trial but Russell got more than he bargained for after chipping his tooth during the first part of this evening’s task.
The 10 celebrities were told live on last night’s instalment they would all be taking part in the upcoming trial.
However, they soon realised not all was as it seemed when they discovered two alternative faces would be completing the tasks Stage Fright had to offer.
The stars came face-to-face with newcomers Ruthie and Russell, who had just entered the camp.
Ant and Dec explained to the now-12 celebrities the trial would take place over three rounds – which required the performing duo to use their existing skills.
With 12 possible stars up for grabs, it was all to play for and the pair took on the first part of the trial, named Laughing Stocks.
Fans saw Ruthie and Russell have to work together as the former had to tell the first part of a joke with the latter finding the punchlines.
As always, there was an I’m A Celeb twist which saw Russell have to retrieve the punchlines from a barrel – using just his mouth.
But this led to an awkward injury from the newcomer after his dedication at trying to win all the stars took over.
Russell took things a step too far when he announced after the trial he revealed he had chipped his tooth.
The campmates found the announcement hilarious and were pleased with the duo after they got 11 out of 12 stars.
After the task, Russell said: “I was just expecting one nasty thing but they kept coming and coming!”
Russell and Ruthie received a hero’s welcome from their fellow campmates and the former soon brought up the injury.

“Chipped tooth and a bang on the head,” he said as he walked in, referring to his earlier mishap.
“I was banging my head in the pot and I clipped it on the side,” he said laughing as he hugged Vernon.
But with Russell having impressed his campmates with his commitment, could he now end up one of the favourites to win the competition?
One person who has had to take on multiple trials already is Radio 1 DJ Jordan North.
The radio DJ is now the bookmakers favourite to take home the title of King of the Castle.
According to bookmakers Coral, the star is at 2/1 odds with Shane Richie just behind at 5/2, while Vernon Kay can be backed at 6/1.
“Jordan North has been very entertaining to watch over the opening few days of the series and is now the new favourite in the betting to win the show,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“The early signs suggest it could be a two-horse race this year between Jordan and Shane to be crowned King of the Jungle/Castle,” added Hill.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
