EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis has been making waves on Strictly Come Dancing this year. She’s already made show history by being the first deaf contestant to take part in the hit BBC dance show. On Saturday night she performed a dramatic Salsa with dance partner Giovanni Pernice. However, after the dance, the soap star became tearful as she was given a special message of support from some friends.
Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman congratulated Rose and Giovanni for their performance on the show.
However, she also had a surprise in store for soap actress Rose.
Claudia explained to viewers that the star had recently missed the wedding of some friends because she was taking part in Strictly.
The presenter then shared a special video message from Rose’s friends Russell and Camilla.
The couple shared some kind words of support for the soap star using British Sign Language (BSL).
In the video, Russell said: “Just wanted to say a huge congratulations on your Salsa tonight. You’re incredible!”
“We’re so proud of you and we love you so much. Can’t wait to see you again soon,” Camilla added.
After watching the heartwarming video of her friends, Rose was overcome with emotion.
“I don’t want to make you sad,” Claudia said, noticing Rose becoming tearful.
“That’s a really lovely surprise,” Rose said. “I love them two just so much.”
Claudia replied: “I know. They love you just as much.”
Rose wasn’t the only one who found the message emotional, as several fans on Twitter noted they were moved by it too.
“Not me crying at Rose’s deaf friends sending her a message of support #strictly,” @DavidMackayy wrote.
@ConnieSpanners posted: “I’m crying again!!! That’s incredible Rose & Giovanni #SCD #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly my winners right there!!! Gio deserves a medal for his teaching abilities.”
“Feeling so emosh after Rose’s dance and message on #strictly,” @Yvonne_Lavinia confessed.
“#Strictly just keeps making me cry. That message was lovely from Rose’s friends,” @kiramadeira said.
Strictly Come Dancing fans will have to wait until Sunday evening to find out if Rose has made it through to the next round of the competition.
After the judges’ marks, AJ and Kai are currently at the top of the leaderboard totalling a score of 65 over the past two weeks.
Meanwhile, Rose and Giovanni are in ninth place, having gained a total mark of 48 from the judges.
However, the public is now able to vote for their favourites in the competition, with the first elimination taking place on Sunday night.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Sunday at 7:05pm on BBC One.
