Joining Susanna Reid to host Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Rob announced the launch of the show’s One Million Minutes campaign. Every December, the show launches the campaign to end loneliness amongst struggling families and elderly people. Rob broke down in tears as the campaign video was shown, explaining how much it affected him.

Susanna introduced the campaign and said: “Every December here on the programme we run a very special campaign.

“We don’t ask you to donate money, we ask you to pledge a little bit of your time to charities fighting to end loneliness.”

Rob continued: “I really love this, it’s called one million minutes and last year, you gave an unbelievable 87 million minutes of your volunteering time changing the lives of lonely people around the country.”

Alongside the launch of their campaign, they showed a special film made for the movement called Bob’s Back.

As the clip came to an end, Rob broke down in tears as Susanna remarked: “You’re broken!”

Rob replied: “Second time watching. Just so you know, just watching that and how much it has affected me, and I’m sure every viewer, quarter of a million minutes have been pledged here.

“Please carry on donating, it’s a challenging time for everybody, but you can give something which you can’t make more of, which is time.”
