Phillip Schofield, 58, welcomed Kevin Clifton, 38, and his partner Stacey Dooley, 33, to take on the challenges set by The Cube. One of the tasks featured on Saturday night’s edition of The Million Pound Cube saw the former Strictly Come Dancing professional have to keep a small sphere balanced on a circular platform whilst navigating himself around the perspex box. The contestant had to then connect the small metal ball to a magnetic pole balancing in midair, which seemed more difficult than first thought and when he failed to achieve success, the ITV show host collapsed in dismay.

As Kevin tried to tackle the challenge by himself inside The Cube, Phillip and Stacey watched from the outside in the studio.

The pair started standing up, but as the contestant failed on multiple occasions, they were brought to their knees.

After the professional dancer failed for the umpteenth time, the presenter had shock written all over his face.

Collapsing to the floor, the host said in the years he had overseen the tasks, he had “never” witnessed something as tense as the contestant failing.

Deliberating how to conquer the impossible feat, the 38-year-old agreed with his partner he would use their simplify lifeline.
