Money Heist: Cast say they’re excited to start filming
Netflix fans are hopeful a release date for the fifth and final season of Money Heist will be dropping soon after updates from the show’s stars. Both Álvaro Morte and Najwa Nimri took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note from the streaming service saying thank you for all their hard work on La Casa De Papel, Part Five.
A release date for Money Heist’s final season could be just around the corner following intriguing social media posts from the cast.
The Professor (played by Álvaro Morte) and Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) will be returning in Part Five, and the actors both teased a new update could be coming soon on their latest Instagram stories.
As the wait for season five continues, fans have been treated to a number of behind-the-scenes sneak peeks during the show’s ongoing production.
This Monday, the two Spanish stars both confirmed they revealed a note from Netflix’s team to say thank you for their work on a marketing shoot for the new season.

While this could mean Netflix could start to release new promotional posters and trailers for the upcoming season in the coming weeks, it also has exciting implications for the current status of production.
Viewers immediately launched into speculation that filming for Part Five had finally come to an end in Madrid, with an official announcement for the season premiere possibly on the way, too.
MrTennat posted on Reddit: “This message comes from a marketing shoot team, giving thanks to Najwa Nimri for taking part of it. Saying it was the last one.”
Of course, the letter was written in Spanish, though luckily the Money Heist fan was able to provide a translation.
They continued: “They also say ‘we are going to say goodbye to the show with style and create a campaign for all the fans of the world. Thanks for your help during all these seasons.’”
Netflix’s hit Spanish series was confirmed to end with an extended fifth season after the fourth instalment was released in April last year.
While another April premiere is unlikely given delays amid the coronavirus pandemic, hopes for a late spring or early summer release have been renewed by the stars’ latest updates.
As production for Part Five, which will consist of ten episodes, began in August 2020, it certainly makes sense that filming would take around six months and come to an end at some point in February.

Of course, the episodes need to be edited and some special effects will have to be rendered, meaning there is still a long journey ahead before the episodes can finally roll out on Netflix.
Still, viewers are optimistic an official announcement from Netflix could follow in the coming weeks now the cast appear to be winding down their time on the series.
One commenter speculated: “Omg! Does that mean they finished shooting? We’d be a lot closer to the release date than we previously thought.”
They then assured fellow fans: “Yes of course, they need post-production. But they don’t need so long for post-production as for Jurassic World for example.”
As with any high-budget TV project, there are still a number of things in each episode that will need to be fine-tuned in post.
Thankfully, as this user pointed out, Money Heist isn’t exactly a Hollywood blockbuster in terms of special effects.
Most of the series’ action set pieces and stunts are performed in-camera, so it’s hoped fans won’t be waiting for months on end to see the completed episodes.
Money Heist Part 4 is available to stream on Netflix.
