Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has allegedly "signed up for I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!", according to The Sun.

A TV insider told the publication that the politician could be the 12th star to step into the ITV jungle following his resignation shortly after he was caught cheating on his wife during the pandemic.

Ten celebrities have been confirmed to enter the Australian jungle this Sunday when the new series starts, but the MP could be one of the two latecomers who will step into the camp later on in the series.

It is understood that his fellow celebrity companion joining the series one week into the show is none other than comedian Seann Walsh, 36.

A TV insider told the news outlet that Matt will be joining the long line of political powerhouses on the show in previous years such as Stanley Johnson.

The source revealed: "Matt is a sensational signing for the show as producers love a star with a story to tell – and then always hope they'll spill the beans round the campfire.

"He's the latest in a long line of figures from the political sphere, including MP Nadine Dorries, Stanley Johnson and MP Lembit Opik.

"There's been a question mark over who the twelfth campmate would be, partly because negotiations over Matt going in were so top secret. It seems Matt was a last-minute signing."

The MP is a shocking addition to the line-up and will no doubt cause a stir in the star-studded camp.

It comes after the other ten campmates were seen together for the first time in the show's official 'family portrait' ahead of the new series launching this weekend.

The stars could be seen in their iconic red and khaki outfits as they prepare to swap their lavish lifestyles for the bug-infested jungle.

But it appeared as though pop sensation Boy George was allowed to personalise his glamorous outfit to reflect his extravagant fashion sense.

The singer could be seen wearing the classic red pants and matching khaki button-up shirt which he had pimped out with a slew of red polka dots all over.

He finished the look with a rangers hat which he chopped the top off and instead added a spikey top that mimicked a crown.
