While Marvin was coupled up with Maura since the pair returned from Casa Amor, Maura decided to end things between them earlier this week.
Tonight’s instalment saw Maura decide to recouple with Love Island newcomer Chris Taylor over sticking with Marvin.
However, as viewers of the ITV2 show know, the Irishwoman had her eye on Curtis Pritchard and was quick to make a move on him after he broke it off with Amy Hart.
He was ultimately picked by new girl Francesca in the recoupling but Marvin doesn’t think Maura is going to back down any time soon.
Maura will definitely have her say
Speaking about why his and Maura’s romance came to an end, Marvin said: “I have no idea why it fizzled out! We just went our separate ways and I think that may have been because of the problems Amy and Curtis were having, who she had her eye on.
“She gave me the opportunity to come into the Villa and in this Recoupling, she gave someone else an opportunity by coupling up with them.”
Marvin went on to open up about whether he thought Curtis would pursue things with Francesca instead of trying things with Maura.
He explained: “I feel Francesca is more Curtis’ type and I think their romance will blossom.
“But it won’t happen easily because Maura will definitely have her say in the matter.”
Could this mean Maura is set for a fiery clash with Francesca as she interferes with their growing bond?
Maura isn’t one to hold back too much when it comes to getting what she wants, so who knows what could unfold in the villa.
Tonight saw Joanna Chimonides recouple once more with Michael Griffiths.
Although the episode had seen Michael discuss old flame Amber Gill with friend Jordan Hames following on from the results of the heart rate challenge.
Jordan believed there was something still there between Amber and Michael, and he suggested it could be stronger than the connection Michael shares with Joanna.
He said: “I think she [Amber] is very much still into you. From what I’ve seen, you and Joanna don’t have as much chemistry as you and Amber did.
“If you did change your mind, there would be nothing wrong with that.”
Elsewhere in the recoupling, Molly-Mae Hague of course stuck with boyfriend Tommy Fury, Anna Vakili went for Jordan while Belle Hassan recoupled with Anton Danyluk.
With no firm romantic attachment in the villa, Ovie Soko’s time in the villa could’ve been up.
However, he was picked by good friend Amber so his position in the competition remains safe for now.
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
