Lorraine discusses royal racism row with Russell Myers
Lorraine Kelly came under fire on Thursday as she weighed in on the resurfaced racial remarks purportedly made by members of the Royal Family while Meghan Markle was pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s first child, Archie. The discussion came in the wake of Omid Scobie’s new book about the royal feud.
Back in 2021, Meghan and Harry stated a member of the Royal Family had raised “concerns and conversations” about Archie’s skin colour. In the Dutch version of Omid’s book, the said royals have been named.
Giving her opinion, Lorraine said to royal editor Russell Myers: “I can’t believe this is still going on.”

“It’s still bubbling over, isn’t it?” Russell agreed as Lorraine went on: “Was it two years ago, the interviews?”
“Over two years ago, yeah,” Russell confirmed.
Lorraine continued: “Two years ago, and at the same she [Meghan] said ‘it was concerning.’
“You know what it’s like, people make jokes, they say, ‘Oh, I hope he doesn’t have your big ears’ or something. You know, if it was done in that way… but it just depends on how it was done.”

“Well, she said this was concerns about their unborn child’s skin colour…” Russell pointed out.
“And you remember the toe-curling aspect when we saw that on Oprah Winfrey.”
“Oh, it was awful,” Lorraine agreed. Viewers listening in weren’t pleased by the comments made by the presenter though.
