After presenting Lorraine throughout the many months of lockdown, Lorraine Kelly has revealed Christine Lampard will be stepping in to host her ITV chat show from next Monday. The 60-year-old plans to visit her parents in Scotland and enjoy a much-needed break after keeping the nation entertained.
Lorraine has explained she needs to spend the with her parents but will keep social distancing measures in place as her dad is ill.
Writing in her latest Hello! column, she noted: “I can help take some of the burden off my mum for a while.”
Lorraine noted it’s been hard for her not being able to visit her family for the past few months.
However, with Christine stepping in to host in Lorraine’s absence, she will have time to relax and unwind.

Lorraine explained: “While I am away, the wonderful Christine Lampard will be standing in for me and I always feel very happy about leaving my “baby” in her care.
“She’s such a lovely, kind, down-to-earth woman and viewers love her.”
But it might not just be Christine who hosts the show next week as Lorraine revealed she has her eye on another presenter to help out.
“I’ve been trying to get him for ages, but he’s very hard to pin down,” she told the publication.
It comes after Lorraine revealed she had moved back to the Lorraine studio after presenting in the Good Morning Britain studio for four months.
Lorraine joined Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid in the GMB studio in March to help reduce the number of staff in the building.
But as lockdown begins to ease, she has returned to her own studio and is looking forward to get back to “normality”.
In a video posted on social media, the presenter announced the news: “Hi everyone, it’s Lorraine here.

“As of Monday, we’re going to be back in our studio which we’re all very excited about.
“It’s been lovely being with the guys at GMB, but it’ll be so nice to sort of get back to a little bit of normality and be back in here. So I’ll see you on Monday.”
Christine will have her hands full stepping in to Lorraine’s shoes after the host took Health Secretary Matt Hancock on today’s show.
She demanded answers about the wearing of face coverings and why he hadn’t appeared on GMB for some time.

Matt said of face masks: “In shops it is [mandatory], in the same way as in public transport.
“In offices, I don’t expect that. The reason is, where a mask can be useful is when you are seeing someone for a short to medium time.
“If you are seeing them all day, like in an office together or for instance teachers in schools, we don’t think masks make much difference as you are in that space with the same people.”
Speaking of avoiding GMB, he simply added: “I love ITV.”
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am.
