Kate Garraway is braced for the fact her husband Derek Draper may not return home from hospital until December 2021.
The move would mean that he would have been having round the clock medical support in hospital for almost two years.
At the end of Kate's Finding Derek documentary, a message popped up giving more information about his potential recovery.
The message read: "His doctors have extended the option of keeping him in hospital… until December 2021."
Speaking on Good Morning Britain earlier this month, Kate admitted at one point it looked like Derek could be stuck in hospital for ever.
Kate said: "The very worst moment was when they said he could be locked in forever.
"And I just thought, this is a horror story.
"I don’t know if he’ll ever have any kind of life again. We just don’t know."
In a bid to make sure she is ready for if and when Derek is able to come home, Kate has started renovating the house.

It's thought that Derek will be wheelchair bound when he does return so Kate needed to make sure the there was sufficient turning point space and ramps.
Speaking during her documentary, Kate vowed to stand by Derek no matter what the future holds.
In one emotional video call she promised him she would fix the situation and get him home.
Kate later said: "He is still Derek. He is still him and he’s still that person that you love.
"But he will behave differently and he will by physically different. So, will I be ok?
"I won’t be delighted because I wouldn’t wish that on him.
"‘I think it will be very tough on us both but he is, for better for worse… you know, I’m trying to look at it as a rather beautiful thing."

The brave mum-of-two added: "‘I feel as though we might have to fall in love again."
Kate has been raising their two children alone while balancing a high profile job and keeping in constant contact with Derek and doctors at the hospital.
