Im a Celeb fans beg for show to axe Gwrych Castle or come off air for a year

Following the crowning of Emmerdale'sDanny Miller who won the latest series of ITV's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, viewers have raised that they want the show to quit Gwrych Castle or take a year break if an Australian return is not an option for 2022.

The show was filmed at Abergele in Wales for the last two series due to the Covid lockdown measures and international travel restrictions.

Many fans have flagged to ITV bosses to take a break if the show can't proceed with filming in the wild Australian jungle where creepy crawlies and snakes lie.

Many have taken to social media to voice their concerns that trials were too easy at Gwrych Castle and that the show is not as exciting, with one fan raising the show's Bushtucker trials in the recent series were "a walk in the park".

Data from a Sun poll asked viewers whether the would like the show to continue filming in Gwrych Castle for a third year – with less than a quarter of fans believing the series should be filmed in the welsh town.

With one fan writing: "The novelty of a new location was exciting last year, but in 2022 it just has to be Oz again.'

Another adds: "Get #ImACeleb back in Australia asap. Wales was decent for one series, but I really haven't enjoyed it this year, it's so basic."

On Saturday's episode, a compilation video previewed the good old days in Australia with archival footage showcasing iconic and funny moments from the last 19 years in the Aussie jungle.

The throwback video reminded fans 'how much better it was in Australia' and how the latest two series taking place in the Welsh town just isn't hitting the mark with it falling short in hitting expectations.

Asking 60,000 people, stats from the Sun's poll found that 80 per cent of viewers reckoned the stars had it too easy this year, with 65 per cent feeling as though trials were "mostly easy".

Danny Miller has been crowned the king of the castle, with Coronation Street's Simon Gregson coming second and The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge taking third place.
