Holly Willoughby reveals she's put her Christmas decorations up six weeks early as she joins stars keen to celebrate

HOLLY Willoughby has revealed she's put her Christmas decorations up six weeks early as she joins stars keen to celebrate festive season.

The This Morning host couldn't contain her joy as she posted a snap of herself standing next to a spectacular door display in her home.

Holly, 39, has joined the growing trend which has seen a host of famous names put up their Christmas decorations to ward off the Lockdown 2.0 blues.

The mum-of-three captioned the picture using words from the well known festive song, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

She wrote: "Through the years
We'll always be together
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough…✨"

She then added of the collection of silver and snow-tipped baubles and foliage: "The most beautiful door display by @earlyhoursltd 🎄"

And it was a definite thumbs up from her followers with comments from "wow" to "amazing" and "This is gorgeous holly".

One fan said: "Christmas is coming whoop whoop 🎄🎄🎄"

Referring to the words accompanying Holly's post which appeared to touch on hopes that families will be able to celebrate Christmas together this year despite coronavirus and lockdown restrictions, one follower said: "That’s just made me cry 😢 beautiful ❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭😭".

Another admitted: "I put mine up a week ago after I saw everyone else doing it 😂".

Holly's fellow This Morning host Rochelle Humes also showed her approval and wrote: "❄️❄️❄️"

And over on her own social media page shared a picture of her daughters – Alaia-Mai, seven and Valentina Raine, three – dressed in striped pyjamas, sitting in huge Christmas wreath which covered most of the family's fireplace.

Rochelle, 31, wrote: "I know it’s early but we are WAYYYYYY too excited".

Holly and Rochelle join the likes of Dynasty actress Joan Collins, Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh and Geordie Shore's Chloe Ferry who have all put their Christmas trees or decorations up in the last couple of days.

Justifying the perhaps premature tree instalment, Joan, 87, wrote on her Instagram page: "So what else should one do during #lockdown in #november? #christmas #christmasdecor #christmastree #lockdown2"

Kimberley, 38, shared a video of her home decked out in baubles and stockings and wrote: "I’m fully aware it’s early November but lockdown 2 is decidedly more depressing than the first one so here we are… no trees yet cos I have to have real ones for the smell and they’ll be done by the 1st of December.

"It seriously brightened up my weekend and although my kids think I’m mad they love it so much ❤️🎅🏼🎄.

"Do whatever makes you happy right now peeps and spread the love ✨✨✨"
