The Doctor Foster actress, 42, stars in new BBC crime drama Vigil, playing a detective investigating a murder on a submarine.
Suranne said: “I got whiplash. I put my back out a couple of times. I was covered in bruises.
“Every time I went home, my husband was like, ‘What the hell have they done to you now?’ It was fun to do, but I was hobbling home.”
Vigil, which also stars Line Of Duty’s Martin Compston, starts on BBC1 this Sunday at 9pm.
