Dawn (played by Olivia Bromley) has struggled during her time in the Emmerdale village but going into the New Year, she is in the best place she has ever been as she begins making plans to marry Billy (Jay Kontzle). With Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) fuelled with jealousy that she last lost her lover to the mother-of-one, the happy couple decided they were going to keep the news to themselves. However, in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap, their secret is exposed and as their wedding day gets closer, it seems a villain will be making plans to get rid of the bride once and for all.
The drama begins next week as Dawn and Billy are still over the moon they are going to have a bright and happy future together.
Although they decided they were going to keep the engagement a secret, Dawn’s son Lucas Taylor (Noah Ryan Aspinall) accidentally stumbles across the truth.
With the youngster in the know, the pair agree it’s time to tell their families about their union in the near future.
Although many are in jubilation, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) is worried his daughter is moving a bit too fast given Billy was romancing Meena a month ago.
Offering some reassurance, the former drug addict tells her father she loves her partner and he makes her feel safe.
Unfortunately, this could be a precursor to the danger lurking in the shadows as more and more villagers will find out about the news.
Having wanted to get back with Billy on New Year’s Eve, Meena will be furious to discover he has asked Dawn to marry him.
As viewers of the show already know, the villain has killed four people already for a lot less than getting engaged to her former lover.
The deranged character already has a vendetta against the mother as she blamed the former drug user for the breakdown of her relationship with Billy.
On Christmas Day, Meena was going to plant some drugs in the Taylor home and called the authorities to check if Lucas was safe.
Meena’s starting to feel invincible
Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) managed to stop her sister from planting the drugs and found herself as a hostage as a result of her actions.
Social services still turned up at the Taylor household having received the report from Meena but they cleared Dawn of any negligence.
Therefore, there is only one way she can get revenge on her love rival now and that would be to murder her in the near future.
In true dramatic soap fashion, it could happen on Dawn’s wedding day as she prepares to cement her life with Billy.
As the bride get dressed and is looking at herself in the mirror, Meena could appear behind her in what Dawn would think would be an end to their rivalry.
The villain would have other plans in mind as hidden in her bag could be a knife she is going to use to end the bride’s life.
As Meena goes to give Dawn a hug to mark the end of their feud, she could stab her in the back and leave her to bleed out on the floor.
With the mother of one missing from the altar, her father Will could go back to the house to check on her to find out what the hold up is.
He could be left heartbroken as he discovers his daughter’s dead body on the floor and he could all the authorities who would rule her death as a murder.
This would leave the villagers shaken as this would be the umpteenth death to happen in as many weeks which seems to have been committed by a killer.
Dawn has made several enemies over the years but with it being public knowledge she had a feud with Meena, the police could question the villain first.
Known for her powers of manipulation, the villain would be able to worm her way out of any responsibility and could give the police another suspect.
She could pin the murder on Billy and claim the heartthrob of the village had a change of heart about marrying his bride.
Therefore, instead of tying the knot, he wanted to kill her as he knew they needed to stop hurting one another.
But will Meena really be able to get away with murder yet again or will the authorities realise she is lying to them?
Speaking on ITV’S Loose Women, the actress who plays Meena, Paige, has teased her character’s downfall in the near future.
The soap star said: “Yes, so, because Meena’s caused such a crazy amount of stuff that’s happened in Emmerdale. She’s starting to get this feeling of invincibility and that’s potentially gonna be her downfall – because her behaviour is getting more and more outlandish and people are starting to cotton on.
“I can’t tell you whether there will be any more murders or not, but she definitely gets worse – like really worse,” she continued.
Could killing Dawn begin a series of events that will see the villain caught out over the numerous murders she has committed?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode airing on Thursdays at 8pm.
